About Us
The International Bridge Music Festival is the result of the joint project of two life-long friends: Marisol Canessa, founder, teacher and director of the Monte Grande Strings Orchestra from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Maria Benaros, owner and teacher at Maria Benaros Violin Studio, in MN, USA. It started because we wanted to defeat the physical distance between us and have our students meet, connect through music, and play together; we added ideas for enriching it, and it took shape in this two-day event that, we hope, will be the first of many.
During this first edition only our students will be performing at the recitals, but both the recitals and presentations are open to the general public. Our hope (and goal) is that this festival grows into a bigger international event, with more players from all over the world actively playing, more presenters, and many more other activities of interest. Your participation (whether actively playing or attending the presentations, making questions, tuning in for recitals, leaving comments for the performers) will make this idea grow and become a reality; and will make it possible for people from all over the world to make music together.
Thank you for being here!
